Parent Teacher Organization
Mission
1. To Create and manage ongoing fundraising campaigns. Examples include the following:
· Affiliations with common retail establishments
· Seeking public/private grants
· Organizing fundraising banquets
· Organizing book fairs
2. To assist teachers and staff with daily tasks. Examples include
· Helping with student arrival and dismissal
· Updating class bulletin boards
· Helping with lunch and recess
3. To Assist teachers by doing supplemental projects such as:
· Organizing and chaperoning field trips
· Contributing to the school newsletter
· Offering on going tutoring
4. To work on school wide enrichment activities. Examples include the following:
· Helping with organizing science/ Islamic project fairs and international festivals
· Organizing sports day
· Offering public speaking and dawah training for students and parents
· Coordinate parent workshops
5. To serve as Public Relations Ambassadors of Dar-Un-Noor reaching out to the broader community. Examples include the following
· Marketing the school
· Working with the administration to increase early registration
· Hosting tour groups at the school
· Reaching out to other school and institutions
DNS Hierarchy
- PTO officers will report to the Assistant Principal
- Assistant principal will report to the Principal
- Principal will report to the Education Board
Important Note:
PTO members must respect the DNA hierarchy. Therefore, PTO members/officers must submit all communications to the principal for approval.
